Jay's story is one of those real American dream situations. Left New Orleans with nothing but his clippers, some clothes in a suitcase, and a vision of something bigger than just cutting hair. Came to Dallas not knowing anybody, started cutting hair at a local shop, and slowly built up the reputation that would change everything. But Jay's real vision was always about recreating that authentic, old school barbershop feel - the kind of place where real conversations happen and everyone's welcome.
"Bringing Back the Real Barbershop Experience" At Tha Kut Gallery, Jay has created something that's becoming rare these days: a true community hub with that classic barbershop soul. You know, the kind of place where people actually talk to each other, where stories get shared, where you can drop your guard and be authentically yourself.

Can I walk in, or do I need an appointment?
Walk-ins are welcome when available, but we recommend booking an appointment online to secure your preferred barber, stylist, or nail tech and avoid long wait times.
How do I book an appointment online?
You can easily book your service through our online booking system on thakutgallery.com. Each barber, stylist, and nail tech has their own calendar, so you can choose the professional and time that works best for you.
What is your cancellation policy?
All barber appointments require a deposit or full payment when booking. We require 48-72 hour notice for cancellations to give other clients the opportunity to book your time slot. Same-day cancellations may result in a fee, and no-shows are considered cancelled appointments with no refund. We do allow you to reschedule at no extra charge and your deposit will still secure your new appointment if you need to change your appointment last minute. If you miss or cancel without notice on more than 2 appointments, we will require prepayment for future bookings to ensure we can continue serving all our clients fairly.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, all major credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Tips for your barber are appreciated and traditionally given in cash. Please note we do not accept personal checks. You may also purchase haircut discount packages on our website.
